Draft General Plan
The Public Review Draft General Plan is now available! The County of Orange General Plan articulates the vision for the future of unincorporated County areas and provides a framework to guide decisions on growth, development, and conservation of open space and resources in a manner consistent with the quality of life desired by residents and businesses. Comments on the Public Review Draft General Plan must be submitted to the address below, by email, or through the form available on the General Plan website by 5:00 p.m. on February 27, 2026:

Housing Element
Previously Adopted by the Board of Supervisors and certified by the California Department of Housing and Community Development as compliant with housing element law in February 2025. No revisions to the currently adopted Housing Element are proposed and it will not be presented again to the Board for adoption as part of this Update. The Housing Element is amended and adopted in accordance with a statutorily prescribed timeline every 8 years. We are currently in the compliance phase of the Housing Element for the Sixth Cycle which runs from 2021 to 2029.
